I Like Flying
Afraid of flying? Imagine you are a pilot or hostess who has to travel the same route at least twice daily. Then you'll see the flight adventure not much differently than a commute by train. And you won't have to look at the highly poetic "Do not lean off the window!" which is often found on trains.
Other things that help are the walks. You can look around how the airplane is made. It is distracting. Just be careful not to take the emergency exit instead of the toilet. The smell might be the same, but not the experience.
When I fly, I try to imagine that I am Snowhite. And of course those flying business are not enjoying larger spaces – they are just dwarfs. Also I frequently ask the hostess for drinks (no apples on board) with the hope to fall asleep (until it's time to get off.) And hope I’ll be awakened by a princes and not an air marshal. Or at least by a hostess…
And when I'm lucky to get into the toilet, I look in the mirror and ask: "Hanging mirror on the wall, who's the palest flyer here, of all?" The mirror silently reflects the sign "No Smoking!" I don't smoke. And this is my best reward - I observe how all the smokers suffer and don't dare light up a cigarette. If they do, the probable flight direction will be toward the bottom of the Atlantic. I know they suffer more than me. Yes, I like flying!
